What is an Interocular Contact Lens?

An intraocular contact lens (ICL) is a relatively new procedure in which we implant a contact lens inside your eye.

This lens can significantly improve your vision and is a great option for patients who may not be ideal candidates for LASIK or other corneal procedures.

The ICL remains in place and continues to help you see clearly until you eventually need cataract surgery.

When it’s time for your cataract surgery, we simply remove the ICL and proceed with replacing your natural lens — just as we would in a traditional cataract procedure.
