About Insurance:

At Sweeney Eye Associates, we’re dedicated to helping you understand your insurance coverage, especially when it comes to elective procedures like LASIK and Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE). Elective procedures are typically those that are not deemed medically necessary but are chosen by patients to improve their quality of life or address specific vision concerns. Because these procedures are elective, they often fall outside the scope of standard insurance coverage.

Ways to save on elective services: Read Our Guide to Tax Time Savings

  1. Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) or Health Savings Accounts (HSAs): Even if insurance doesn’t cover elective procedures, you may be able to use funds from an FSA or HSA to pay for these services. These accounts allow you to set aside pre-tax dollars for qualifying medical expenses, which can include certain elective procedures.
  2. Alternative Financing: If insurance coverage isn’t available for your procedure, our team can discuss alternative financing options with you. We understand that affordability is an important consideration, and we’re here to help you explore options that fit your budget.

Our goal at Sweeney Eye Associates is to provide you with clear information and support as you navigate your vision care options. If you have any questions about insurance coverage or payment options, please don’t hesitate to ask. We’re here to help!

Participating Insurance Plans

At Sweeney Eye Associates, we strive to make high-quality eye care accessible by working with most major insurance providers. As a Medicare provider, we file medical claims directly to participating plans. However, we do not participate with all Medicare Replacement plans, as these are not billed to or covered by Medicare. If you have a Medicare Replacement plan, please notify our office so we can verify whether we accept your specific coverage.
