Dr. Patrick Sweeney, MD, is a highly regarded Ophthalmologist in North Texas and the founder of Sweeney Eye Associates. With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Sweeney is an expert in cataract surgery and advanced vision correction procedures.  Dr. Sweeney has performed over 25,000 cataract surgeries and 9,000 laser-assisted cataract surgeries. He approaches each procedure with precision and compassion, utilizing the latest technologies to ensure optimal results for his patients.

A graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University and the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Dr. Sweeney’s academic achievements are complemented by his athletic background, having excelled as a two-time First Team Academic All-American Defensive Back and a semi-finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship.

Dr. Sweeney’s was the first in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex to perform Restor Multifocal Lens Implant surgery and has been appointed by Alcon Pharmaceutical as a “Mentor Physician” for Restor IOL surgery nationwide. Additionally, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and an esteemed member of various prestigious medical associations.

Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Sweeney remains actively involved in his community, coaching youth football and supporting charitable initiatives such as the Scott Bostwick Memorial Fund at Nebraska Wesleyan and the Prestonwood Pregnancy Center.

Dr. Sweeney enjoys fishing, vacationing with his family, and pursuing his passion for football and lacrosse. He is accepting new patients!
