Dr. Lippas ensures each patient receives personalized treatment to effectively preserve vision and manage the effects of diabetic retinopathy. In early stages of the disease, Dr. Lippas may recommend lifestyle modifications such as blood sugar control, diet changes, and regular exercise to slow its progression. For more advanced cases, he may perform laser therapy to seal leaking blood vessels or injections of medications to reduce swelling and prevent abnormal blood vessel growth. In some instances, surgical procedures may be necessary to remove scar tissue or blood from the eye. Schedule an appointment to discuss the best treatment plan for you.

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a common eye condition affecting older adults, causing gradual vision loss in the central part of the retina. Dr. Lippas specializes in diagnosing and treating AMD, offering tailored approaches to suit individual needs. In early stages, he may recommend lifestyle changes such as diet modifications and smoking cessation. Advanced cases might require treatments like anti-VEGF injections to reduce abnormal blood vessel growth or photodynamic therapy to destroy abnormal blood vessels. Dr. Lippas also monitors patients closely, adjusting treatment plans as needed to manage AMD effectively and preserve vision for as long as possible. If you’re experiencing vision changes or haven’t had an eye exam recently, schedule an appointment with Dr. Lippas promptly for comprehensive care.

Retinal vein occlusion occurs when a vein in the retina becomes blocked, leading to vision loss or distortion. Dr. Lippas specializes in diagnosing and treating this condition, offering interventions such as medication injections, laser therapy, or surgery to manage complications and preserve vision. Prompt evaluation is essential to prevent further damage and preserve sight.

Macular edema is swelling of the macula, the central part of the retina, often occurring due to conditions like diabetes or AMD. Dr. Lippas specializes in diagnosing and managing macular edema, offering treatments such as medication injections, laser therapy, or surgical interventions to reduce swelling and preserve central vision. Regular monitoring and treatment adjustments are essential to control the edema and maintain optimal vision.
