Once the cataract is removed, an implant is placed in the eye. That implant could be very basic in nature — kind of like a cell phone from the 1990s. It’s big, it makes phone calls, but it doesn’t do a lot of extras.
Cell phones today are modern — like having a computer in your pocket. Premium intraocular lens implants give you the chance to not only have sharp distance vision, but also excellent close-up vision. Maybe not as close as it was when you were 20, but we can get it down here and get it very effectively.
Premium lens implants have the highest level of satisfaction among patients in postoperative surveys from research trials. That’s why I like to recommend premium implants for patients having cataract surgery.
