With combined training in Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery and Ophthalmology, Dr. Mark Jaffe has a unique ability to perform a host of delicate procedures around the eyes while taking advantage to cosmetically enhance a patient’s appearance. The eyelid area requires a great deal of expertise and should only be trusted to a surgeon with the highest level of ophthalmologic and eyelid surgery training. Dr. Jaffe is an Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, also known as an Eyelid Surgeon, Oculoplastic Surgeon or Oculofacial Specialist. He has received extensive training in eyelid surgery and orbital surgery, as well as surgery in the adjacent regions of the face.
Dr. Jaffe’s honors include a Special Achievement and Excellence Award in Basic Science and Plastic Surgery Research in 1991, acceptance into the Honors Research Program at MD Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute in Houston, Texas, the Florsheim Merit Scholarship, and membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Jaffe specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery involving the eyelids and surrounding area, including the forehead, orbit, lacrimal system and eyebrows. Dr. Jaffe also has experience performing cosmetic procedures such as upper and lower blepharoplasty, brow lifts, and laser resurfacing, as well as performing many medically necessary reconstructive procedures. He has substantial surgical experience with the CO2 laser and is recognized as a pioneer in his field. He has designed and patented surgical laser instruments to promote the safety of patients and improve surgical outcomes.

5 years ago Dr. Jaffe performed surgery on my right eye, blocked tear duct. The following year, my left eye developed the same issue and I knew he was the best surgeon for the surgery. He has a very light touch and extremely professional. Following those surgeries, I had no doubt about who would be doing my upper eye lift when needed. I had the eye lift eye surgery 2 weeks ago and I still can't believe the immediate results. The entire staff provided me with excellent care! I had minimal bruising and very little swelling. Dr.Jaffe and his staff are courteous, polite and professional. I had an issue with my eyelids drooping and it was affecting my ability to drive. From handling the insurance, to seeing me thru the procedure and the follow up visits, everything was handled beyond my expectations. Dr. Jaffe was recommended to us by a leading physician in the DFW area. Ironically, I visited a well-known dermatologist and I happened to mention Mark Jaffe's name and my dermatologist said that he was one of the finest Oculoplastic surgery doctors in Dallas. Dr. Jaffe performed my eyelid surgery at Walnut Hill Surgical Center. I was very impressed with his medical team and the hospital staff also. Everyone worked with me, taking care to explain what was needed. Receiving an instruction sheet to follow before surgery helped to prepare me for what was to come. Two weeks before my surgery, I started preparing by making sure I was sleeping on my back with three or four pillows positioned to raise my head comfortably. Following the surgery; all the directions were followed closely. Very little bruising and swelling occurred as a result of surgery. I am extremely pleased with everyone involved. Dr. Jaffe took great care of me. He and his surgical nurse provided me clarity and comfort throughout the process. I'm in great health at 6-feet tall and a 33" waist. But after 62 birthdays my eyelids made my peripheral vision border-line and caused my countenance to appear a bit tired. Dr. Jaffe prescribed a remedy and regime for recovery. Dr. Jaffe removed some nodules on each eyelid that were too close to my tear ducts. He was gracious enough, as I had met all my out of pocket insurance costs, to squeeze me in the very last days of December, 2017. Experiencing surgery around one's eyes is scary. Dr. Jaffe and his capable staff put me at ease immediately. He performed a laser eyelift on both my eyes. I felt very little pain and within about 40 minutes saw a positive result. Of course, afterwards there is swelling. There was, however, no pain.
